Thinking of a movie on your computer, or any other video clip, instantly brings to mind the words AVI or MP4, but these are by no means the only formats that play with multimedia elements.

MKV files are other types of audiovisual containers that can include an unlimited amount of videos, sound files or subtitles in different languages, as if it were an AVI.

MKVEXtractGUI is neither more nor less than a tool intended to extract from MKV files a specific section such as audio, video and other complements.

This is a graphical user interface (GUI) for MKVToolnix, so it does not work by itself, it is applied as an option of this program.
